The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender

Melissa Houlroyd
Reference and Instruction Librarian

I first heard about The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake when Aimee Bender was interviewed on NPR on June 10th. I just had to order it the next day. I am so glad I did because it’s a fantastic read. It’s gripping, evocative, and original. Conceptually, it’s quick and easy reading, but emotionally, it’s difficult to digest. It sticks with you.
